CricBattle Daily Fantasy Cricket League Tips

Chennai vs Gujarat on May 28

Indian Premier League 2023 started with Gujarat Titans facing Chennai Super Kings and it will end in the same manner, as the two teams will clash in the final of the Indian Premier League. Can MS Dhoni manage to win his fifth title as captain and eventually equal Rohit Sharma’s record or will Hardik Pandya become the third skipper to lift the cup in two successive years? Well, it’s a harder question to answer as the players of both teams are in magnificent form at the moment. In Qualifier 2, GT opener Shubman Gill wreaked havoc, scoring 129 runs off just 60 deliveries against Mumbai Indians and with that, the 23-year-old managed to hit his third century in his last four matches. Sai Sudharsan too looked in great form while with the ball, Mohammed Shami managed to pick up two wickets while Mohit Sharma once again was in brilliant form, picking up his maiden five-for this season. When it comes to Chennai, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad will be a massive threat to Gujarat. They eventually crashed GT’s party in Qualifier 1 and now, on a batting-friendly pitch, the duo can prove to be very dangerous in the middle. On top of that, MS Dhoni has the much-needed experience that Hardik seems to be missing and that can prove to be a massive difference in the summit clash.

Best economical pick – Matheesha Pathirana has been the find of the season for CSK and has produced results during the crucial phase. He has taken 17 wickets in 11 games at an average of 19.23, an economy of 7.72, and a strike rate of 14.94.

Top captains & vice captains Young opener Shubman Gill is in phenomenal form in the ongoing season. The 23-year-old has hit 851 runs in 16 matches so far and with that, he is currently leading the IPL Orange Cap race. He has scored three centuries in his last four innings and on top of that, the cricketer has a terrific record in the Narendra Modi Stadium. Thus, he will have the confidence to help the team win the trophy once again. Ruturaj Gaikwad has made half-centuries in his last two matches and has been one of the best batters for CSK this season. He has made 564 runs in 14 innings at an average of 43.38 and a strike rate of 146.87.

Smart pick – Ravindra Jadeja is the second-highest wicket-taker for CSK this season and has taken 19 wickets in 15 games at an average of 20.68, an economy of 7.41, and a strike rate of 16.73. Jadeja has made 175 runs as well at a strike rate of 137.79.

Cautious Pick – Ambati Rayudu has scored just 139 runs in 15 games this season and can be avoided for this match.

My XI – Shubman Gill (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Vice-Captain), Matheesha Pathirana, Ravindra Jadeja, Wridhiman Saha, Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, David Miller, MS Dhoni, Devon Conway
