The 51st match of the IPL 2025 will witness Gujarat Titans (GT) locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 02. GT will aim to bounce back after their recent defeat against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on April 28. The Shubman Gill-led side lost the game by eight wickets, all thanks to the young centurion, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. GT posted 209/4 after their 20 overs, where Gill scored a 50-ball 84, including five boundaries and four sixes, while Jos Buttler contributed with a valuable unbeaten fifty as well. RR chased down the target with ease courtesy of Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who guided the team to their third win of the season. Meanwhile, SRH are also coming off a positive win over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. However, the ongoing season hasn't gone the way they would have planned, as they have secured only three wins, but as many as six losses in nine games. The Pat Cummins-led side still has a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs, and the team will look to give a final try and hope to win all their remaining five games to pull off a miraculous top four finish.  

Best economical pick – Harshal Patel has been the best pacer for the Hyderabad-based franchise this season. He can take crucial wickets in the middle and death over, putting his team in the driving seat with his bowling. The right-armer has once again been among wickets, 13 wickets in eight matches. With the Ahmedabad pitch supporting pacers, Harshal will be determined to use it to his advantage. 

Top captains & vice captains – Sai Sudharsan holds the key for the Gujarat Titans in the batting department. Coming in as an opener, he can provide a strong start and take them to a big total. The southpaw has been scoring runs for his side and forming a formidable opening duo alongside Shubman Gill. In nine matches, he has scored 456 runs and currently holds the Orange Cap. Sudharsan has been in fine touch and will be looking to continue it in the upcoming clash. Travis Head is an aggressive batter at the top of the order and had a great season last time scoring 567 runs in 15 matches.

Smart pick – Jos Buttler has scored 356 runs in eight matches so far this season and will be a top pick against this opposition.

Cautious Pick – Nitish Kumar Reddy’s performance in IPL 2025 so far has been underwhelming, with 152 runs in 9 matches at an average of 21.71 and a strike rate of 113.43, and no half-centuries or significant bowling contributions. Compared to his impressive 2024 season, his current form suggests he is struggling to make impactful contributions, so it would be reasonable to consider avoiding him in your fantasy team.
