Mumbai vs Hyderabad on May 6

Mumbai Indians, currently languishing at the bottom of the pile, take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 06 at the Wankhede Stadium. The hosts, having lost all four of their previous games and virtually out of the tournament, will be giving it one last shot. They would want to seek revenge from SRH, who beat them in the reverse fixture in a high-scoring encounter which saw SRH bashing MI's bowlers all around. As for SRH, they have everything to play for, with a spot in the Playoffs definitely up for grabs. Coming on the back of a one-run victory against the Rajasthan Royals in their last game, they would be looking to continue the same by carrying forward the momentum.

Best economical pick – Mayank Agarwal’s poor form with the bat gave young Abhishek Sharma a chance to open the innings. Taking full advantage of the chance, the young left-handed batter has done his best and been in tremendous form with the bat.

Top captains & vice captains – Currently, SRH's highest run-getter in the ongoing edition, Travis Head would enter the field to extend his flair, coming on the back of a half-century. The Australian all-rounder has scored 396 runs in the nine innings so far, and has given countless nightmares to bowlers alongside his opening partner Abhishek Sharma. MI will prepare differently to stem the runs from southpaw's blade. Tilak Varma is the leading run-scorer for MI in IPL 2024 with 347 runs. The youngster has been a consistent performer and a major force in MI's middle order.

Smart pick – Having already claimed 17 wickets in 11 matches this season, Jasprit Bumrah has been a class apart, despite his comrades getting torn apart in most of MI's games this season. The Purple Cap holder has a commendable record against the Sunrisers with 16 wickets to his name, and would look to add some more to the list.

Cautious Pick – Hardik Pandya is going through a tough time in his comeback season with the Mumbai franchise. His team is currently at the bottom of the table and there has been no significant contribution from his side in either department to lift them up. Notably, his slow knock of 20 off 24 balls was partly the reason why MI were unable to chase down the target of 278 against SRH.

My XI – Travis Head (Captain), Tilak Varma (Vice-Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Heinrich Klassen, Pat Cummins, Rohit Sharama, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Bhuvneswar Kumar, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan
